If you live in a 20+ year-old home, you know how quickly an outdated kitchen can begin to feel crowded, worn out, and difficult to use. That was exactly the case for these Sacramento homeowners, who were ready for a kitchen remodel that improved both the look and functionality of their space.
The result is a bright, modern kitchen designed for everyday comfort, better organization, and long-term durability.
A combination of both Cabinet Refacing and New Custom Cabinetry
After completely removing the original kitchen, our team transformed this dated 1980s home with a more open and welcoming design. We updated all electrical adding multiple circuits and the necessary dimmer switches for modern LED’s. We updated all necessary plumbing, bringing everything up to code.
The homeowners selected beautiful custom Deco/RTF frameless cabinetry with a shaker style door in two complementary finishes:
- Mission White
- Mysterious Suedette
Our custom cabinetry included 23 hardwood beech dovetail drawers with soft-close. The combination creates a clean, contemporary feel while still feeling warm and timeless. We built a new bookcase, added 13 floating shelves with two above the peninsula and two above the entertainment center. We added a Lazy-Susan to the peninsula and a “cloud” unit near the sink to provide for improved accessibility and improved storage. We added a roll-out above the fridge, retractable doors to the beverage station and added a cabinet to replace the wine fridge.
To complete the look, we fabricated and installed stunning Cambria Inverness Cobalt countertops with a mitered edge. Additionally, we added a full tile splash with tile stopping right under the floating shelves and going to the ceiling at the kitchen window. Finally, we completed the update with new undercabinet lighting providing both functionality and flexibility.
countertops along with a custom tile backsplash that ties the entire kitchen together beautifully.
Custom Cabinetry Designed Around Daily Life
One of the biggest goals of this kitchen remodeling project was improving storage and making the kitchen easier to use every day.
After removing the original cabinetry and countertops, we updated the electrical system and GFCI outlets before installing custom frameless cabinets with durable maple interiors.
To maximize storage and accessibility, we included:
- Pull-out pantry shelves
- 13 Floating shelves
- 23 hardwood beech dovetail drawers
- Soft-close drawers and doors
- Convenient roll-out shelving
- A Lazy-Susan peninsula cabinet for easier access
- Cloud unit near the sinks for easier access
These smart storage upgrades help eliminate clutter and make cooking, cleaning, and organizing much simpler.
Designed for Comfort and Accessibility
For many homeowners planning to stay in their homes long-term, comfort and accessibility are just as important as appearance.
Features like full-extension drawers, pull-out shelving, and improved lighting make this kitchen more functional and enjoyable to use every day. Instead of bending and reaching into dark cabinets, everything is easier to access and better organized.
It’s a kitchen designed not only to look beautiful — but to work beautifully too.
