Whatever your Davis home needs, we handle it in-house. Kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, countertop fabrication and installation, cabinet refacing and custom cabinets.
Davis kitchen remodeling often means working with a design that had intent behind it. Village Homes were built around passive solar orientation. Stonegate homes were laid out around the lake. Our designers work with those decisions rather than against them, and our crew handles design, demo and final install.
Bathroom remodeling is by far our busiest Davis service. Homes from the 1970s and 80s came with compact hall baths and primary suites that feel dated rather than broken. Tub-to-shower conversions, vanity replacement, bathroom cabinets and aging-in-place work lead the list.
In many Davis homes, the cabinet boxes outlast the doors. Davis cabinet refacing replaces doors, drawer fronts and veneer while the boxes stay put. Cabinets look new, at a fraction of what full replacement costs.
Stock cabinetry assumes a standard wall. Davis floor plans often do not give you one, especially in homes designed around solar orientation or a lake frontage. Custom cabinets solve the angles, the built-ins and the storage no catalog size fits.
Davis countertop replacement tends to follow a cabinet project rather than lead one. We fabricate kitchen countertops in our own shop, so you approve seam placement before anything gets cut. Choose from a wide variety of materials including quartz, granite, natural stone and Silestone, templated and installed by one team.

A remodel in a Village Homes passive solar build is a different job than one in a Stonegate house backing the lake. Different orientation, different framing, different cabinet conditions, different budgets. These neighborhood profiles cover what we find in Davis homes by area and era, from West Davis to Stonegate and more!
Davis’s original townsite, part of Davisville since the late 1860s. Roughly 300 homes include the 1876 Drummond House and early-1900s cottages and bungalows within a Heritage Conservation District just east of the railroad tracks and downtown.
Development began in the 1970s with Village Homes, a 245-home solar and garden-centered community, alongside broader tracts of bungalows, ranch, and Spanish Revival homes built through 1990, with newer traditional infill added through 2010.
A lake and country club community on Davis’s west side, centered on the 17-acre Stonegate Lake since 1969. Single-family homes surround a private club with six tennis courts, three pools, and canoe and paddleboat access to the lake.
Our Sacramento showroom is a straight run across the causeway from Davis.

Most Davis homes from the 1970s and 80s were built with the kitchen as its own room. Removing the wall between the kitchen and the living space is still the single change that transforms these houses.
Davis adds a wrinkle. Village Homes were designed around passive solar principles, with window placement, overhangs and room orientation all doing real work. Removing an interior wall can change how heat moves through the house. Worth understanding before you commit, and worth designing around rather than ignoring.
Whether the wall carries load determines cost. Our project manager checks framing during design rather than after demo starts. Opening it up usually leads to a peninsula or island, which moves the sink, dishwasher and cooktop. All of that runs through our own team.
Bathrooms outrun kitchens in Davis by a wide margin, and tub-to-shower conversions are the reason.
Homes built in the 1970s and 80s almost all pair a tub and shower in a single alcove. If nobody in the house takes baths, that tub is storing shampoo and forcing a step-over every morning.
Converting to a walk-in shower opens the room and gives you space for a bench, a proper niche and a real drying area. The work covers demo of the tub and surround, new waterproofing, a repositioned drain and tile or solid-surface walls. Most conversions finish inside two weeks.
Keep one tub in the house if resale matters. Buyers with young children still look for it.
Davis cabinet refacing keeps your boxes and replaces doors, drawer fronts and the visible veneer. Full replacement removes everything.
Box condition decides it, not age. Homes from the 1970s and 80s frequently have solid plywood boxes worth keeping. Particleboard boxes with water damage under the sink rarely survive.
Layout decides the rest. If your current cabinet positions work, reface. If you want a taller upper run, a different island or a pantry where a wall stands now, replacement makes more sense.
Refacing typically finishes in under a week with your kitchen mostly usable. Replacement runs longer.
Cabinet painting is a third option. Lower cost, works when the door style still suits you, less durable than a factory finish.
Countertop work in Davis usually arrives attached to something else. A refacing project, a cabinet replacement, a bathroom remodel that raised the question of what else is dated.
That is a reasonable way to sequence it. Pulling a slab means pulling the sink, which means choosing a new one. The faucet follows. Then the backsplash, because the old one was cut to the old slab height.
We fabricate kitchen countertops in our own shop. You approve seam placement rather than finding out where it landed on install day.
Quartz handles daily use with no sealing. Granite and natural stone give you patterns no other home repeats, and need periodic sealing. Silestone sits in the quartz category with a wider color range.
Davis homes were built with the storage standards of their decade, and the 1970s were not generous.
A pantry closet with wire shelving wastes most of its depth. Deep corner base cabinets swallow small appliances that never come back out. Uppers stop at a soffit instead of the ceiling, losing a full shelf across the room.
Custom cabinets fix it. Pull-out pantry towers replace deep shelving. Appliance garages keep the counter clear. Drawer bases hold pots better than doors and shelves ever did.
Village Homes and other design-forward Davis builds often have built-ins, window seats and angled walls that no stock cabinet line accommodates. Those spaces reward cabinetry measured to the room.
Bathroom cabinets work the same way. A linen tower sized to your wall beats a freestanding cabinet crowding the doorway.
Davis holds a large share of homeowners who bought in the 1970s and 80s and never left. Forty years in one house changes what a bathroom needs to do.
This work does not have to look clinical. A curbless shower reads as a design choice. Blocking behind the tile lets grab bars go in now or later without opening walls twice. A comfort-height vanity and a taller toilet reduce daily strain.
Lever handles replace knobs. Lighting gets brighter at the mirror and inside the shower. Non-slip tile handles wet floors without the institutional look.
ADA-compliant work follows specific clearance and reach dimensions. Our designers know which apply to a private residence versus a code requirement, and build to whichever standard you want.
