Whatever your Placerville home needs, we handle it in-house. Kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, countertop fabrication and installation, cabinet refacing and custom cabinets. Here is what each service looks like for your Placerville home.
Placerville kitchens sit in every kind of house, from custom builds near downtown to homes on three-acre foothill lots. Many were built in the 1980s and 90s, when the kitchen was still its own room, and opening it up changes how the whole house feels. We handle everything from design to demo to final install.
Placerville bathrooms tend to be original to the house, which makes them a common starting point. Tub-to-shower conversions lead the list, followed by vanity replacement, bathroom cabinets and aging-in-place work for owners who plan to stay in the foothills.
In many Placerville homes, the cabinet boxes outlast the doors. Placerville cabinet refacing replaces doors, drawer fronts and veneer while the boxes stay put. Cabinets look new, at a fraction of what full replacement costs.
Stock cabinetry comes in standard sizes and Placerville homes almost never do. Custom cabinets are built to your room, which means the corners get used, the angles get worked around and your storage fits the way you actually live.
Countertops are our busiest Placerville service. We fabricate kitchen countertops in our own Sacramento shop, so you approve seam placement before anything gets cut, and the same team that templates your slab installs it. Choose from quartz, granite, natural stone and Silestone.

A remodel on a three-acre Greenstone Country lot is a different job than one in a Pinewood home walking distance from downtown. Different layouts, different access, different cabinet conditions, different budgets. These neighborhood profiles cover what we find in Placerville homes by area and era, from Pinewood to Greenstone Country and more!
Placerville’s historic residential district, adjacent to the Gold Rush-era downtown known as “Old Hangtown.” Single-family homes here date largely to the early 20th century, part of the city’s 1985 Historic Survey Inventory.
An established Placerville neighborhood of single-family homes built between 1982 and 2006 on large, often multi-acre lots. Contemporary, ranch, and Mediterranean architectural styles sit among the Sierra foothills.
An upscale subdivision of custom single-family homes close to historic downtown Placerville and Marshall Hospital. Established streets and larger lots set this neighborhood apart from the surrounding rural parcels.
Our Sacramento showroom sits at the bottom of Highway 50, with full kitchen and bath displays and materials you can compare side by side.

Countertops are our busiest Placerville service, and the reason is timing. Greenstone Country built out between 1982 and 2006, which means a wide span of homes are all reaching the same point at once.
Original laminate has usually failed at the seams by now. Early solid surface has dulled. Tile grout has stained past the point where cleaning helps.
We fabricate kitchen countertops in our own shop. You approve seam placement rather than finding out where it landed on install day.
Quartz handles daily use with no sealing. Granite and natural stone give you patterns no other home repeats, and need periodic sealing. Silestone sits in the quartz category with a wider color range.
Plan for the sink, faucet and backsplash at the same time. Pulling a slab forces all three decisions whether you budgeted for them or not.
Placerville homes built before 2000 almost always pair a tub and shower in a single alcove. If nobody in the house takes baths, that tub is storing shampoo and forcing a step-over every morning.
Converting to a walk-in shower opens the room and gives you space for a bench, a proper niche and a real drying area.
The work covers demo of the tub and surround, new waterproofing, a repositioned drain and tile or solid-surface walls. Most conversions finish inside two weeks.
Foothill properties often have long driveways, a steep approach or limited turnaround. Our crews plan access and the removal route before demo day rather than improvising on the morning.
Placerville properties come with more space than the houses were designed to use. Greenstone Country lots run three and a half acres on average, and most carry a shop, a detached garage or an outbuilding storing decades of tools.
Custom cabinets handle all of it. Workshop cabinetry keeps tools findable. Mudroom lockers catch boots before they reach the kitchen. Garage systems get seasonal gear off the floor.
Inside, the kitchens have the same issues as anywhere. Deep corner base cabinets swallow small appliances. Uppers stop at a soffit instead of the ceiling, losing a full shelf across the room.
Built to your dimensions, those spaces become the most useful storage on the property.
Bathroom cabinets work the same way. A linen tower sized to your wall beats a freestanding cabinet crowding the doorway.
Placerville keeps its residents. People move to the foothills on purpose and stay, and thirty years in one house changes what a bathroom needs to do.
This work does not have to look clinical. A curbless shower reads as a design choice. Blocking behind the tile lets grab bars go in now or later without opening walls twice. A comfort-height vanity and a taller toilet reduce daily strain.
Lever handles replace knobs. Lighting gets brighter at the mirror and inside the shower. Non-slip tile handles wet floors without the institutional look.
ADA-compliant work follows specific clearance and reach dimensions. Our designers know which apply to a private residence versus a code requirement, and build to whichever standard you want.
Placerville homes from the 1980s and 90s follow the closed-plan logic of the era. A wall separates the kitchen from the living space, and the room feels smaller than the square footage suggests.
Removing that wall changes the house more than any other project. Whether it carries load determines cost, and our project manager checks framing during design rather than after demo starts.
Greenstone Country covers more than two decades of construction, with contemporary, ranch and Mediterranean designs sitting side by side. Framing methods vary accordingly. A neighbor’s remodel tells you little about your own walls, so we look at yours specifically before quoting.
Opening the wall usually leads to a peninsula or island, which moves the sink, dishwasher and cooktop. All of it runs through our own team.
Placerville cabinet refacing keeps your boxes and replaces doors, drawer fronts and the visible veneer. Full replacement removes everything.
Box condition decides it, not age. Homes from the 1980s and 90s frequently have solid plywood boxes worth keeping, particularly in Pinewood where custom builders specified better cabinetry from the start. Particleboard boxes with water damage under the sink rarely survive.
Layout decides the rest. If your current cabinet positions work, reface. If you want a taller upper run, a different island or a pantry where a wall stands now, replacement makes more sense.
Refacing typically finishes in under a week with your kitchen mostly usable. Replacement runs longer.
Cabinet painting is a third option. Lower cost, works when the door style still suits you, less durable than a factory finish.
Kitchen Mart is proud to provide kitchen and bathroom remodeling services throughout the greater Sacramento and Placerville area.
