Whatever your Auburn home needs, we handle it in-house. Kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, countertop fabrication and installation, cabinet refacing and custom cabinets. Here is what each one looks like for all kinds of Auburn homes from the foothills and surrounding neighborhoods.
Auburn kitchen remodeling has to account for the terrain. Hillside homes above Skyridge were built to the slope, so floor plans step and ceilings change height from room to room. North Auburn ranch kitchens are flatter and more predictable. Our in-house crew handles everything from design to demo to final install.
Bathroom remodeling is our busiest Auburn service. Hall baths in 1950s and 60s foothill homes are tight. Tub-to-shower conversions lead the list, followed by vanity replacement, bathroom cabinets and aging-in-place work for owners who plan to stay.
In many Auburn homes, the cabinet boxes outlast the doors. Auburn cabinet refacing replaces doors, drawer fronts and veneer while the boxes stay put. Cabinets look new at a fraction of what full replacement costs.
Stock cabinetry assumes a standard wall. Auburn homes built into the foothills may not give you one. Custom cabinets solve the corners, the stepped ceilings and the storage no standard cabinet sizes will fit.
Countertops run close behind kitchens in Auburn, and most replacements involve surfaces that have lasted decades. We fabricate kitchen countertops in our own Sacramento shop, so you approve seam placement before anything gets cut. Choose from a wide variety of materials inclucing quartz, granite, natural stone and Silestone.

"I chose this beautiful quartz because it reminded me of our gold heritage living here in the foothills. It's striking gold veining adds a unique feel to the darker satin background. I just love it." For the backsplash, the homeowner chose Paula Purroy Talia Blossom 5 x 5.

A remodel in a hillside Skyridge Acres home is a different job than one in a North Auburn ranch on flat ground. Different framing, different access, different cabinet conditions, different budgets. These neighborhood profiles cover what we find in Auburn homes by area and era, from Skyridge Acres to North Auburn and more!
Auburn’s Gold Rush core, centered on a 22-acre National Historic District added in 1970. Victorian cottages and hillside homes from the 1850s–1920s line Auburn’s sloping streets around the Placer County Courthouse and the iconic clock tower.
A midsize Auburn neighborhood dating to 1950 that has continued developing for decades, with roughly 1,200 homes ranging from compact ranch cottages to larger hillside builds near Skyridge Elementary and the Auburn State Recreation Area.
A census-designated community of roughly 4,600 single-family homes northeast of downtown Auburn, with a median construction year of 1978. Ranch homes and newer infill line residential streets off the Highway 49 and Auburn-Folsom Road corridors.

Auburn cabinet refacing keeps your boxes and replaces doors, drawer fronts and the visible veneer. Full replacement removes everything.
Box condition decides it, not age. Homes from the 1950s through the 1980s frequently have solid hardwood or plywood boxes worth keeping. Particleboard boxes with water damage under the sink rarely survive.
Layout decides the rest. If your current cabinet positions work, reface. If you want a taller upper run, a different island or a pantry where a wall stands now, replacement makes more sense.
Refacing typically finishes in under a week with your kitchen mostly usable. Replacement runs longer.
Cabinet painting is a third option. Lower cost, works when the door style still suits you, less durable than a factory finish.
Auburn kitchens from the 1950s through the 1970s were built as separate rooms, walled off from the living space. That was the standard everywhere. What makes Auburn different is the terrain.
Hillside homes were framed to the slope. A wall between the kitchen and the family room may sit at a level change, which turns a simple removal into a question about steps, railings and ceiling transitions. Our project manager checks framing and elevation during design rather than after demo starts.
North Auburn homes on flatter ground behave more predictably. Either way, opening the wall usually leads to a peninsula or island, which moves the sink, dishwasher and cooktop. All of that work runs through our own team.
Countertops are close to our busiest Auburn service, and the reason is age. Many homes here are still on surfaces installed decades ago, well past the point where refinishing helps.
We fabricate kitchen countertops in our own shop. You approve seam placement rather than finding out where it landed on install day.
Quartz handles daily use with no sealing. Granite and natural stone give you patterns no other home repeats, and need periodic sealing. Silestone sits in the quartz category with a wider color range.
Plan for the sink, faucet and backsplash at the same time. Pulling a slab forces all three decisions whether you budgeted for them or not.
Auburn homes were built for a different era of kitchen. A shallow broom closet, a single pantry shelf and counters that were never meant to hold a stand mixer, an air fryer and a coffee setup at the same time.
Custom cabinets fix it. Pull-out pantry towers replace deep shelving. Appliance garages keep the counter clear. Drawer bases hold pots better than doors and shelves ever did.
Foothill homes often have odd landings, under-stair space and stepped ceilings that stock cabinetry cannot touch. Those become the best storage in the house once something gets built to fit them.
Bathroom cabinets work the same way. A linen tower sized to your wall beats a freestanding cabinet crowding the doorway.
Auburn homes built before 1990 almost always pair a tub and shower in the hall bathroom. If nobody in the house takes baths, that tub is storing shampoo and forcing a step-over every morning.
Converting to a walk-in shower opens the room and gives you space for a bench, a proper niche and a real drying area.
The work covers demo of the tub and surround, new waterproofing, a repositioned drain and tile or solid-surface walls. Most conversions finish inside two weeks.
Cast-iron tubs are common in Auburn’s older homes and come out heavy. On hillside properties with limited driveway access, our crews plan the removal route before demo day rather than improvising around it.
Auburn draws people who intend to stay. Long ownership tenures are the norm here, and thirty years in one house changes what a bathroom needs to do.
This work does not have to look clinical. A curbless shower reads as a design choice. Blocking behind the tile lets grab bars go in now or later without opening walls twice. A comfort-height vanity and a taller toilet reduce daily strain.
Lever handles replace knobs. Lighting gets brighter at the mirror and inside the shower. Non-slip tile handles wet floors without the institutional look.
ADA-compliant work follows specific clearance and reach dimensions. Our designers know which apply to a private residence versus a code requirement and build to whichever standard you want.
