Orangevale, CA Kitchen & Bath Remodeling Services

Whatever your Orangevale home needs, we handle it in-house. Kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, countertop fabrication and installation, cabinet refacing and custom cabinets. Here is what each one looks like in homes in Orangevale, CA.

Kitchen Remodeling

Orangevale kitchen remodeling usually comes down to layout. Homes from the 1970s and 80s were built with the kitchen closed off from living space. Later builds opened up but kept the soffits and shallow pantry closets. Our in-house crew handles everything from design, demo and final install.

Bathroom Remodeling

Bathroom remodeling in Orangevale runs neck and neck with kitchen work. Primary suite remodels lead, followed by tub-to-shower conversions and aging-in-place upgrades. Bathroom cabinets, vanities and full shower remodeling round out the rest.

Bathroom Remodeling in Sacramento

Cabinet Refacing

In many Orangevale homes, the cabinet boxes outlast the doors. Orangevale cabinet refacing replaces doors, drawer fronts and veneer while the boxes stay put. Cabinets look new, at a fraction of what full replacement costs.

Cabinetry Refacing Sacramento

Custom Cabinetry

Stock cabinetry assumes a standard wall. Orangevale floor plans rarely give you one. Custom cabinets solve the corners, the soffits and the storage no catalog size fits, including the detached garages and shops that come with larger lots here.

Custom Cabinets Sacramento

Kitchen Countertops

Countertop replacement is the fastest visible change you can make in your Orangevale kitchen. Original surfaces from the 1970s and 80s have long since run their course. We fabricate kitchen countertops in our own shop, so you approve seam placement before anything gets cut.

Remodeling Project Ideas for Your Orangevale Home

Aging-in-Place Bathroom Updates

Orangevale has one of the most stable homeowner populations in the region. People buy here, raise families here and stay. Homes bought in the 1980s are still held by their original owners in large numbers.

That changes what a bathroom needs to do. This work does not have to look clinical. A curbless shower reads as a design choice. Blocking behind the tile lets grab bars go in now or later without opening walls twice. A comfort-height vanity and a taller toilet reduce daily strain.

Lever handles replace knobs. Lighting gets brighter at the mirror and inside the shower. Non-slip tile handles wet floors without the institutional look.

ADA-compliant work follows specific clearance and reach dimensions. Our designers know which apply to a private residence versus a code requirement, and build to whichever standard you want.

Countertop Replacement

Countertops give you the largest visual change for the smallest disruption in an Orangevale kitchen.

The trigger is usually one of two things. Laminate seams start lifting, or tile grout stains past the point where cleaning helps. Homes from the 1970s and 80s are often on original surfaces that have simply run their course.

We fabricate kitchen countertops in our own shop. You approve seam placement rather than finding out where it landed on install day.

Quartz handles daily use with no sealing. Granite and natural stone give you patterns no other home repeats, and need periodic sealing. Silestone sits in the quartz category with a wider color range.

Plan for the sink, faucet and backsplash at the same time. Pulling a slab forces all three decisions.

Pantry and Custom Storage

Orangevale lots run larger than most of the region. The houses on them were not always built to match.

A 1970s pantry closet with wire shelving holds less than a purpose-built cabinet half its width. Deep corner base cabinets swallow small appliances. Uppers stop at a soffit instead of the ceiling, losing a full shelf across the room.

Custom cabinets fix it. Pull-out pantry towers replace deep shelving. Appliance garages keep the counter clear. Drawer bases hold pots better than doors and shelves ever did.

Larger Orangevale lots also mean detached garages and workshops that need real storage. Our shop builds for those spaces too.

Bathroom cabinets work the same way. A linen tower sized to your wall beats a freestanding cabinet crowding the doorway.

Opening Up a Closed-Plan Kitchen

Orangevale homes from the 1970s and 80s follow the closed-plan logic of the era. A wall separates the kitchen from the family room. The result feels smaller than the square footage suggests.

Removing that wall changes the house more than any other project. Whether it carries load determines cost, and our project manager checks framing during design rather than after demo starts.

Opening the wall usually leads to a peninsula or island, which moves the sink, dishwasher and cooktop. Plumbing and electrical rerouting follow. All of it runs through our own team.

Homes from this era often have solid cabinet boxes worth keeping. Pairing wall removal with refacing lands well below the cost of a full tear-out.

Tub-to-Shower Conversion

Orangevale homes built before 1990 usually pair a tub and shower in the primary bathroom. If nobody in the house takes baths, that tub is taking up a quarter of the room and storing shampoo.

Converting to a walk-in shower opens the space and gives you room for a bench, a proper niche and a real drying area.

The work covers demo of the tub and surround, new waterproofing, a repositioned drain and tile or solid-surface walls. Most conversions finish inside two weeks.

Older cast-iron tubs come out heavy. Our crews plan removal before demo day rather than improvising around it.

Keep a tub in a secondary bathroom if resale matters. Buyers with young children still look for one.

Cabinet Refacing or Full Replacement

Orangevale cabinet refacing keeps your boxes and replaces doors, drawer fronts and the visible veneer. Full replacement removes everything.

Box condition decides it, not age. Homes from the 1970s through the 1990s frequently have solid plywood or hardwood boxes worth keeping. Particleboard boxes with water damage under the sink rarely survive.

Layout decides the rest. If your current cabinet positions work, reface. If you want a taller upper run, a different island or a pantry where a wall stands now, replacement makes more sense.

Refacing typically finishes in under a week with your kitchen mostly usable. Replacement runs longer.

Cabinet painting is a third option. Lower cost, works when the door style still suits you, less durable than a factory finish

FAQs

How long does a kitchen remodel take in Orangevale?

Most full kitchen remodels run 4 to 8 weeks from demo to final install. Cabinet refacing finishes in under a week. Countertop replacement alone takes two to three weeks, most of which is fabrication time after templating.

Timelines stretch when a wall comes out. Homes built in the 1970s and 80s were framed before open plans became standard, and determining whether a wall carries load happens during design rather than after demo starts. Because our designers, project managers and craftsmen all work for Kitchen Mart, we are not waiting on a subcontractor’s calendar to move to the next phase.

Do I need a permit to remodel a kitchen or bathroom in Orangevale?

Orangevale is unincorporated Sacramento County, so permits go through the county rather than a city building department. Replacing cabinets, countertops or fixtures in the same locations usually does not require one. Moving plumbing, altering electrical circuits or removing a wall does.

We handle permit applications and inspections as part of the project. Homeowners in unincorporated areas sometimes assume county work moves slower than city work. In our experience the timelines are comparable, provided the plans are complete on the first submission.

Should I reface my cabinets or replace them?

Box condition decides it, not age. Many Orangevale homes from the 1970s through the 1990s have solid plywood or hardwood cabinet boxes that outlast their doors by decades. If the boxes are sound, refacing gives you new doors, drawer fronts and veneer at a fraction of replacement cost.

Replacement makes sense when you want the layout changed. A taller upper run, a different island, or a pantry where a wall stands now all require new cabinetry. Water damage under the sink is the other common trigger, since particleboard boxes rarely survive it.

Can you build cabinets for a detached garage or workshop?

Yes. Orangevale lots run larger than most of the region, and many properties include detached garages, shops or storage buildings that were never designed with real storage in mind.

We build cabinetry to your dimensions in our own shop. Garage systems, workbenches, tool storage and seasonal overflow all get built to the space rather than ordered to the nearest catalog size. The same shop builds our kitchen and bathroom cabinets, so the finish quality is identical.

What does a tub-to-shower conversion involve?

The tub and surround come out, new waterproofing goes in, the drain gets repositioned, and tile or solid-surface walls go up. Most conversions finish inside two weeks.

Orangevale homes built before 1990 often have cast-iron tubs, which are heavy enough that removal gets planned before demo day rather than improvised. If you are converting with aging in place in mind, add blocking behind the tile even if you skip grab bars for now. Installing them later then takes an afternoon instead of opening the wall a second time.
