Thinking about a kitchen remodel? Before you commit to a full tear-out, consider cabinet refacing—the fastest, most cost-effective way to refresh your space. If you’re happy with your kitchen’s layout and your cabinet boxes are in good shape, refacing can deliver a brand-new look at half the cost, half the mess, and half the time of a full remodel.
From Dated to Dream Kitchen
Take a look at this Rocklin, Ca. transformation. The homeowners upgraded their 1980s oak cabinetry and tile countertops to a fresh, modern design that’s both functional and stylish. We modified the existing cabinetry, removing the desk section and built a new base cabinet. The homeowners maximized their investment with both cabinet refacing and new cabinetry to achieve their desired goals.
✅ Cabinet Refacing: Perimeter cabinets were refaced in Velvet White with a DSS218 door style, while the island was given a lovely, warm contrast in Walnut with a natural finish for a dynamic two-tone look.
✅ Increased Functionality: We added 15 hardwood beech dovetail drawers, all soft-close, for improved organization and accessibility. We even added false doors on the island end panels.
✅ Improved Lighting: To improve task lighting, we added 6 recessed can lights to help with overall light in the space.
✅ Quartz Countertops: We templated, fabricated, and installed Cambria Beckington on the island and paired with a Corian Quartz Night Soapstone for durable, every-day surfaces that are easy to clean.
✅ Finishing Touches: A full-height, straight-set subway 3 x 8 tile backsplash completed the space, adding timeless elegance.
The result? A completely updated kitchen with improved good looks, updated style, improved functionality and better lighting. Wow! What a change from the ‘Before.’ It’s no wonder we say, “Refacing is life-changing!”
