Whatever your Newcastle home needs, we handle it in-house. Kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, countertop fabrication and installation, cabinet refacing and custom cabinets. Here is what each remodeling service looks like for Newcastle homes.
Newcastle kitchen remodels vary as much as the properties they sit in, from foothill homes with valley views to ranch houses on multi-acre parcels. Homes from the 1970s and 80s often keep the kitchen as its own room, and opening it up changes how the whole house feels. We handle everything from design to demo to final install.
Newcastle bathrooms are usually original to the house, which makes them the most common place homeowners start. Tub-to-shower conversions lead the list, followed by vanity replacement, bathroom cabinets and aging-in-place work for owners planning to stay.
In many Newcastle homes, the kitchen cabinet boxes usually outlast the doors. Newcastle cabinet refacing replaces doors, drawer fronts and veneer while the boxes stay put. Cabinets look new, at a fraction of what full replacement costs.
Stock cabinetry comes in standard sizes. Many Newcastle homes do. Custom cabinets are built to your room, which means the corners get used, the soffits get worked around and your pantry, mudroom and shop storage fits the way you actually live.
Countertops are as busy as bathrooms for us in Newcastle. We fabricate kitchen countertops in our own Sacramento shop. Choose from quartz, granite, natural stone and Silestone, all templated and installed by one team.

This Newcastle, CA. kitchen remodel incorporated both refacing and new custom face frame cabinets with a standard overlay. The homeowners appreciated saving time and expense of a full tear-out while still achieving the functionality and preferred design style.
That’s exactly what happened in this Roseville, CA kitchen remodel. The homeowners wanted to brighten the space by replacing their dark granite countertops and outdated tile backsplash with something cleaner, lighter, and easier to maintain.
The existing bathtub was removed to make room for a larger, more comfortable walk-in shower. We installed a Corian shower pan and threshold in Glacier White, paired with Cambria Torquay quartz shower walls. This solid-surface design is antimicrobial and easy to clean, giving the homeowners both luxury and peace of mind.
"There were absolutely no surprises. It worked out exactly as I planned...down to every little detail...It makes me happy."

A remodel on a Newcastle multi-acre orchard property is a different job than one in a foothill home above town. Different framing, different access, different cabinet conditions, different budgets. These neighborhood profiles cover what we find in Newcastle homes by area and era, from the foothill neighborhoods to the rural acreage and more!
A Gold Rush-era town center dating to the 19th century, with vintage cottages and classic architecture within Placer County’s fruit-growing foothills. Newcastle’s small-town charm centers on its historic railroad depot area.
An established Newcastle neighborhood of single-family homes on the foothill terrain above the historic town center. Mature oak trees and rural surroundings give this area a quiet, semi-rural character close to Auburn and I-80.
Newcastle’s defining housing type: single-family ranch and custom homes on multi-acre parcels, many built in the 1970s through 1990s. Fruit orchards and rolling foothill terrain define this semi-rural Placer County community.
Our Rocklin showroom is located a short 8-minute drive down I-80 from Newcastle.
Worth the trip when you want to see materials together rather than one sample at a time. Full kitchen and bath displays and experts on hand when you want one.

Countertops match bathrooms as our busiest Newcastle service, and the reason is straightforward. Many homes here are still running the surfaces they were built with.
We fabricate kitchen countertops in our own shop. You approve seam placement rather than finding out where it landed on install day.
Quartz handles daily use with no sealing. Granite and natural stone give you patterns no other home repeats, and need periodic sealing. Silestone sits in the quartz category with a wider color range.
Plan for the sink, faucet and backsplash at the same time. Pulling a slab forces all three decisions whether you budgeted for them or not.
Newcastle homes often have long uninterrupted runs or an island that anchors the room. Those are the layouts where seam placement matters most, and where doing it in-house pays off.
Newcastle properties come with more buildings than the houses account for. A shop, a detached garage, a packing shed left over from the orchard days.
Custom cabinets handle all of it. Workshop cabinetry keeps tools findable. Mudroom lockers catch boots before they reach the kitchen. Garage systems get seasonal gear off the floor.
Inside, the kitchens have the same issues as anywhere. Deep corner base cabinets swallow small appliances. Uppers stop at a soffit instead of the ceiling, losing a full shelf across the room.
Built to your dimensions, those spaces become the most useful storage in the house.
Bathroom cabinets work the same way. A linen tower sized to your wall beats a freestanding cabinet crowding the doorway.
Newcastle homes built before 1990 almost always pair a tub and shower in a single alcove. If nobody in the house takes baths, that tub is storing shampoo and forcing a step-over every morning.
Converting to a walk-in shower opens the room and gives you space for a bench, a proper niche and a real drying area.
The work covers demo of the tub and surround, new waterproofing, a repositioned drain and tile or solid-surface walls. Most conversions finish inside two weeks.
Cast-iron tubs are common in the older foothill homes and come out heavy. On properties with long driveways or a steep approach, our crews plan the removal route before demo day rather than improvising around it.
Newcastle cabinet refacing keeps your boxes and replaces doors, drawer fronts and the visible veneer. Full replacement removes everything.
Box condition decides it, not age. Homes from the 1970s and 80s frequently have solid plywood or hardwood boxes worth keeping, particularly where the original owner specified better cabinetry. Particleboard boxes with water damage under the sink rarely survive.
Layout decides the rest. If your current cabinet positions work, reface. If you want a taller upper run, a different island or a pantry where a wall stands now, replacement makes more sense.
Refacing typically finishes in under a week with your kitchen mostly usable. Replacement runs longer.
Cabinet painting is a third option. Lower cost, works when the door style still suits you, less durable than a factory finish.
Newcastle homes from the 1970s and 80s follow the closed-plan logic of the era. A wall separates the kitchen from the living space, and the room feels smaller than the square footage suggests.
Removing that wall changes the house more than any other project. Whether it carries load determines cost, and our project manager checks framing during design rather than after demo starts.
Most Newcastle homes were built one at a time on individual parcels, so framing methods vary property to property. A neighbor’s remodel tells you little about your own walls. We look at yours specifically before quoting.
Opening the wall usually leads to a peninsula or island, which moves the sink, dishwasher and cooktop. All of it runs through our own team.
Newcastle is a town of about twelve hundred people, and turnover is low. People buy here and stay, which changes what a bathroom needs to do over thirty years.
This work does not have to look clinical. A curbless shower reads as a design choice. Blocking behind the tile lets grab bars go in now or later without opening walls twice. A comfort-height vanity and a taller toilet reduce daily strain.
Lever handles replace knobs. Lighting gets brighter at the mirror and inside the shower. Non-slip tile handles wet floors without the institutional look.
ADA-compliant work follows specific clearance and reach dimensions. Our designers know which apply to a private residence versus a code requirement, and build to whichever standard you want.
Kitchen Mart is proud to provide kitchen and bathroom remodeling services throughout the greater Sacramento, CA area.
A full kitchen remodel usually takes 6–8 weeks, while bathrooms average 3–4 weeks – from design to clean-up. Timelines depend on the project’s scope, material availability, and whether structural or plumbing changes are needed.
Permits are typically required for projects that involve plumbing, electrical, or structural changes. Kitchen Mart handle all permitting and inspections to ensure your remodel is fully compliant with Placer County codes.
Absolutely. Many Newcastle homeowners choose to start with cabinet refacing, countertop replacement, or fixture updates before committing to a full remodel. We’ll help you prioritize based on your goals and budget.
Yes. Kitchen and bathroom updates consistently rank among the top home improvements for return on investment. Modern, functional spaces are especially appealing in Newcastle’s competitive housing market.
Not usually. We work to minimize disruption, and many clients stay in their homes during the remodel. For extensive renovations, temporary adjustments to your daily routine may be needed.
At Kitchen Mart, we’re here to serve your needs. If you’re in the greater Sacramento region and you’d like an estimate, product information or simply want to drop us a note to let us know how we’re doing, we’d love to hear your comments.
