You’ve heard the saying, “out with the old and in with the new.” That perfectly sums up this dramatic kitchen remodel of a 1980s Carmichael kitchen.
From Demo to Dream Kitchen
We began by removing the outdated cabinetry, tile flooring, ceiling, and light well. With a clean slate, our in-house craftsmen handled every step—updating electrical wiring, adding new circuits and outlets, and installing 10 recessed can lights to replace the dark, dated light well. A new downdraft blower added modern functionality, while thoughtful space planning delivered the homeowners’ goals: more storage, more counter space, and a warm, transitional look.
Custom Cabinetry, Built Right Here in Sacramento
At the heart of this kitchen remodel are custom, European frameless cabinets, built in our Sacramento cabinet shop. Interiors feature a maple-look finish, while Deco/RTF doors in the RR980 style, finished in Light Italian Walnut, bring timeless warmth. Every drawer and rollout—23 dovetail drawers and 4 rollouts—is crafted from solid beech hardwood with soft-close guides, a Kitchen Mart standard. The new design provides a much more open and user friendly concept.
Quartz for Beauty and Durability
To complement the cabinetry, we fabricated and installed Cambria Quartz Whitendale countertops with a full-height backsplash. The clean lines and subtle movement of this surface enhance the kitchen’s simple, transitional style.
Smart Storage, Thoughtfully Designed
Because storage and accessibility were top priorities, we included:
- Two lazy Susans for easy corner access
- A pull-out trash and recycle station
- Custom bookcase shelving
- Finished panels for a seamless, furniture-quality fit
